Saturday Yarn

I got to spend Saturday night with some of the people I love being crafty, eating good food and drinking wine. I can’t say I’m mad about it either. :) . Here is my daily drawing for today. Made in Procreate on the iPad Pro.

And, as I have a tendency to do, I animated this illo just for fun. Here you go. Special appearance by Mia the cat.

Illustration animation rendered in Photoshop. Happy weekend friends!

Wiggling Bags

There’s a whole lotta shaking going on round here.

I challenged myself to make an illustration every day that’s a drawing from life. I was stumped on what to draw today. so I went with random bags I found around my house. :) And then i made them wiggle because why not?

And if all that movement is making you queasy, here is the still version of my Various Bags Illo:

Tomorrow is Friday and boy do I need it! Hoping to wrap up another full illustration tomorrow. and not just random smaller things.

Website Illustrations

While I’m working on standing up my new site, I’ve been churning out a lot of small illustrations to use on various pages of the site. I’m saving some of them for the final launch but I thought I’d share a few of them here. Some of these are items or symbols of meaningful things. Others are just for fun.

I’m getting more excited for the site with every passing day! It’s coming together and it feels very me. Can’t wait to share the final version with you guys SOON!

BirchBoxMan: February 2019

This isn’t an advertisement; I bought my box myself.

My February Birchbox came today. I made a goal to try and draw one thing from life every single day so here we go!

For $10 a month, you get 5 grooming products to try out.

I always enjoy seeing what’s in the box each month. I can’t wait to try these new products out soon.

Old Stuff: Return of the Hostas

In the spring of 2015, we put in a flower bed in front of our house. Since the front of our house was mostly shaded by a gigantic Oak tree, we were limited on what we could plant in the bed. We settled on mostly Hostas with a few other shade-lovin’ buddies mixed in.

The next spring, after a late snow, little green Hosta leaves started popping up through the mulch. I was thrilled. I was jazzed to see that some of our Hostas had survived the winter, but it also was the first sign that winter was ending and spring was coming soon.

No need to adjust your dial; I had bleached my hair and dyed it gray around the time of this illustration.

This little baby was drawn in my trusty Pentallic Traveler Sketchbook. It’s lined with a Prismacolor Fine Liner (it worked fine but it’s not my favorite) and painted with various shades of Copic markers. The background color is my favorite go-to shade for my sketchbook settings: Tea Green by Winsor Newton Promarkers.
