As a lover of almost all things mid century and Danish modern, I’ve had a sweet spot for Cathrineholm enamelware for many years.
I was fortunate enough to fall in love long before the popularity took off and prices went through the roof. Here are a couple pictures of my collection from way back when.
(Funny side note: the picture to the right, with the teal walls, is one of the featured images on Google when you search for Cathrineholm. I just realized that tonight@ . This was part of my collection circa 2013.)
When I was actively collecting, you could find bowls on Ebay for $5-$10. Those same bowls now o for $100 all the time. It’s incredible what demand will do to pricing! At some point, I tapped on acquiring new pieces and just enjoyed what I had.
My collection isn’t quite as big today; I’ve moved a few times and my display space has varied. It was getting a little out of hand towards the end of my collecting days.
I spent some time finishing an audiobook today and didn’t have anything in mind to draw. I put pen to paper (or Apple Pencil to iPad screen, as the case may be) and these bowls sort of spilled out.
I’m thinking about making either a sticker set or maybe enamel pins. What do you think?

Several years ago, I actually helped write a blog with tons of information about Cathrineholm and specifically the Lotus pattern we all know and love. I’m toying with the idea of creating a page here with more information because there’s so little detail out there for collectors.
In all my spare time. :)
